After receiving your estimate, you can drop off your device at your convenience for a final evaluation and offer.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take?
Trade-ins and buy-backs at Mac-Ave are typically completed within 1-2 business days. Your device will need to be assessed by our technicians before any final value and payout can be set.
What happens if I decline the final offer?
If you decline our final offer we may charge a diagnostic fee of up to $90 upon pickup of your device. This fee covers the labor costs of evaluating a device for trade-in/buyback.
If you buy back my device do you erase my data for me?
Yes, we factory reset all devices after trade-in/buyback offers are accepted. Whether your device is being resold or sent out for recycling, your personal data is safe.
What devices are eligible for trade-in/buyback?
Most Apple devices that were released within the last 7 years, including Mac, iPad, iPhone, Apple TV, and Apple Displays.
We will NOT accept any headphones for trade-in or buyback.
If my device isn't eligible for trade in or buy back where can I recycle it?
If your device isn’t eligible for trade in you can bring it to an electronics recycling location. Just two miles down the road from us at the corner of RT 96 and RT 251 is EWaste+.

Can I trade in a Mac for an iPad?
Yes! You can trade in any Apple product and receive credit towards your next purchase. Your trade-in credit is flexible – you can apply it to any new Apple device. For example:
- Trade in your iMac and use the value towards a new iPad
- Trade in your iPad and use the credit towards a new iMac or MacBook
- Trade‑in values will vary based on the condition, year, and configuration of your eligible trade‑in device. Not all devices are eligible for credit. You must be at least the age of majority to be eligible to trade in for cash, credit or for a Mac-Ave By Jessi Group Gift Card. Trade‑in value may be applied toward qualifying new device purchase, added to a Mac-Ave By Jessi Group Gift Card, or cash. Actual value awarded is based on receipt of a qualifying device matching the description provided when estimate was made. Sales tax may be assessed on full value of a new device purchase. In‑store trade‑in requires presentation of a valid photo ID (local law may require saving this information). Mac-Ave reserves the right to refuse, cancel, or limit quantity of any trade‑in transaction for any reason. Restrictions and limitations may apply.
